British Poultry Council Awards 2006 Print this page

Politicians, research scientists and British poultry farmers who gathered in the House of Commons on Tuesday 5th December were joined by Lord Rooker, Minister of State for Sustainable Farming and Food, to recognize distinguished service and scholarship in the poultry sector.

The BPC’s Chairman, Mr. Ted Wright, and Lord Rooker both spoke about the challenges the industry had weathered in the last year before presenting the awards. There was much discussion amongst assembled BPC members of DEFRA’s announcement that they would look at urgently reviewing Environment Agency charges for new IPPC permits for pig and poultry farms.
