The group currently delivers day old broiler chick, duck and turkey grandparent and parent stock to the British poultry industry. Through the application and integration of novel techniques and new technologies, continuous progress in the right balance of economically desirable traits is made, while at the same time delivering standards of health, food safety and welfare. For more information please visit the breeding section. European farm animal breeders have agreed a Code of Good Practice for ethical breeding. The Code sets out the goals of animal breeding organisations, the way in which these goals are pursued, and the rules or standards that govern the activities of breeders. The Code is both transparent and verifiable so that it is easy to understand and simple to apply. BPC primary breeding companies have been intimately involved in the setting up and governing of Code EFABAR, with support and assistance from both the EU Commission and the European poultry body AVEC.
